Saving records.

Two ways to add a record. Pick whichever feels easy.

Take a photo.

Open your pet’s page, tap the plus button, and pick the camera. Snap the paper. We read your photo and fill out a record card for you. You always get to look at the card and tap save yourself before anything is kept.

Type it in.

Don’t want to take a photo? You can type the record in by hand instead. Pick the kind of record, fill in the fields, tap save. Same result, no camera.

What works best.

For a photo to come out clean:

  • Lay the paper flat on a table.
  • Use good light. Daylight is best. Avoid shadows on the page.
  • Get the whole page in the frame.
  • Hold the phone steady. Wait for the text to look sharp.
  • Make sure the writing is the right way up.

What we can read.

We do well with:

  • Vet receipts and visit summaries
  • Vaccine cards
  • Lab reports
  • Pill bottle labels
  • Discharge sheets

Handwriting can be hit or miss. If it’s a doctor’s scribble, you may need to fix a field or two before you save.

When we get it wrong.

We try, but we’re not perfect. When the card pops up, look it over. Tap any field to fix it. If too much is off, tap skip and try again with a better photo, or type the record in by hand.

We never save without your okay.

Nothing lands on your pet’s page until you tap save. Read the card first, fix what’s wrong, then keep it.

Don’t want to upload? Don’t.

When you take a photo, the app sends it to our reading service so we can fill out the card for you. If you’d rather not send the photo at all, just type the record in by hand. You get the same record either way.
